HelloTxt, the microblogging aggregator service, has added image and video support, easing the sharing of media with all of your followers and readers.
Orli Yakuel of Go2Web2.0 offered an alert to the new feature that was just launched yesterday. You upload the media to their site and, once ready, you are given a short code that can be pasted in to into the body of a post to be sent out to whichever of the microblogging services that you choose from. So the same short code can easily go out to your Twitter and Pownce accounts in one go, for example, cutting back on the tedium of converting uploads through outside services.
(Note: Whether it is an image or a video clip you wish to share, HelloTxt only supplies a shortened URL to be attached to posts. If you’re interested in seeing YouTube embeds automatically show up in your Pownce feed, HelloTxt won’t deliver.)
It certainly eliminates a couple of steps for those that wish to share media with their microblogging friends, and is a welcome addition to the service. You have to wonder if we will eventually just see the services do the same for themselves, eliminating the need for users to leave their site anymore than absolutely necessary.
